The Blue Sharks fishing season is usually from mid June to October, with its peak period being between July and September when the water temperatures rise to about 13 / 14 degrees Celsius. Irish Blue Sharks range from 9kg in weight to over 45kg and although they are an oceanic species, they often come less than five miles from land.
Blue Shark Fishing is normally done on the drift, but may also be caught on anchor if the tide is not too strong. Apart from the traces and a float, blue shark fishing does not call for any special tackle.
Unlike many other charter boats, Deep Sea Charters offers the following at no extra cost: Fishing rods, Fishing Tackle, Tea/ Coffee, Soup.
